Doris Howells attended Vancouver Community College (VCC) in 1985 taking several legal secretary courses. After finishing her studies, she worked for a variety of downtown law firms for a period of approximately seven years before moving to Surrey to work at Caissie & Company Law Corporation since 1992. Ms. Howells has significant experience working as a legal secretary and paralegal in the legal profession, and in particular in providing support for ICBC and personal injury claims, as well as general civil litigation claims. In addition to her working experience, Ms. Howells keeps up-to-date in developments and changes regarding court procedures and the law by regularly attending Continuing Legal Education courses for support staff and courses provided by the Law Courts of British Columbia.
Ms. Howells is a dedicated paralegal and an invaluable part of our team. She assists our lawyers and clients in numerous aspects of a claim or file by providing vital support and information. Our clients speak highly of Ms. Howells dedication to their files and her friendly and supportive manner.
In her spare time, Ms. Howells enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, travelling and enjoying cottage life on the lake. Prior to her studies at VCC, Ms. Howells studied French at Montmirail in Switzerland and is fluent in conversational Swiss.
Ms. Howells has been an active member in her community through her volunteer service as a board member on a local soccer club and a volunteer soccer coach. In addition, she has given her time to sit as a member of the Parent Advisory Committee at her sons former elementary school.
